New Director of Ministry

The Rector and Vestry are proud to announce the call of Dante Tavolaro as
our Director of Ministry. Dante is a lifelong Episcopalian and member of St.
Paul's Episcopal Church in Pawtucket. He has been serving as the Director of
Christian Formation at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Providence, where
he's had oversight of children and youth ministries and Sunday School, along
with assiting the Rector in adult formation programs.

Dante is a 2011 graduate of Rhode Island College, where he graduated cum
laude. His senior thesis was on the history and development of the Book of
Common Prayer. He is a former member of Diocesan Council, and this summer
will serve as one of the elected deputies to General Convention from the
Diocese of Rhode Island (the triennial convention of the entire Episcopal
Church).

Dante has a regular pattern of prayer and Scriptural study, and a love for
helping form and nurture disciples of Jesus, young and old alike. He is
funny, smart and a bit of a church nerd.  But most importantly, he is
excited about coming to St. Peter's to support our efforts to minister to
our children and youth, welcome and incorporate new members, and guide our
mission/outreach efforts to serve the needs of the wider community.

Dante will begin at St. Peter's later this summer, allowing for a few weeks
of overlap with Meghan Farrar, our part-time Director of Children and Youth
Ministries, who will depart the position at the end of August.

The search and nomination process involved Vestry and Council members, and began last month.

The Director of Ministry position is funded by a private gift.
