Movie Night

Have you ever been to a drive-in movie?  Summer brought to mind a drive-in when considering possible events for another family night.  We’d like to bring together for a fun evening families with kids of all ages, or those without kids, or those who just like to have fun.  We can’t re-create a drive in, but we will instead create the St. Peter’s version by having movie night on the lawn.  Steve Lague and John DiPanni have rigged up a “screen” out front, and we will gather with blankets, chairs, coolers, or whatever, to share in the fun.  We’ll have pop-corn and drinks to share.

Without a doubt, the Sound of Music is one of my family’s favorites.  We have watched it 800 times (so it seems), as Julianna is a particularly huge fan of Julie Andrews.  We thought we’d add an interactive fun piece by encouraging you or your children to dress as your favorite character.   (Don’t feel obligated to dress in costume.  It’s kind of a throw-back idea from Rocky Horror, if you were so inclined in your youth.  Maybe I’m dating myself or telling too much.)

So, come Friday at 6:30, bring the family, bring friends, friends of the kids, anyone who would want to watch and sing with us.  Looking forward to a night of fun!
